I've been playing on this server for a long time. Recently I've been taking a break, so a lot of people won't recognize me. Even after all this time my base is a mess. While some of the builds are cool, it has no theme and I don't like it. I realize that a server reset would make a lot of players leave, but I also think it would bring some of the old ones back. It will be hard to let go, but I think it's something that needs to be done. It would be hard, as so many people would hate a reset, but I think it's a vital piece of keeping simplex together. Older players are dropping out, while newer players will join then quit after a few days. Please take my request into consideration. Your friend
As a side note, a save of the current world would be awesome. If we could get a download, and someone could connect a coordinate board so everyone could find everyone's builds, that would be cool too.

I've been playing on this server since only July, I believe, but when I was a starter, it was a little disappointing that it was so hard to find things that weren't already raided. A reset, in my opinion, would benefit the community in many ways. And if nothing else, could breathe new life to the server. Perhaps even giving the players an option to download the old world so they can revisit their builds or even just explore everyone else's.
But a world reset, regardless if we get a download of the old world, would be fantastic. After you get to a certain point in playing, it grows stale and there's not much to do at all besides sitting in your base and talking in chat.
EDIT: And it would be nice to keep our current ranks as well.

My standpoint on this would to save the old world as a copy or separate server because i have spent so much time building things and it would be nice to re-visit the old world. A reset would be nice to start fresh, but if the old world is not saved, I will for sure quit Simplex. I Think we should not keep our ranks because a reset is a reset , everyone starts fresh, even the gods.  |

I agree with a reset. I know im not a veteran player im only a regular (lolidontvote) but it would be fun for a reset. The reason people dont leave right away is because the community is amazing. We have great staff and great players. We cant just extend the world border everytime boredom comes. This server is over a year old and can use a fresh start.

i think the file of this world should be split into 2. one world for the the current world and one if there would be a new on. then we would be able to across the worlds and switched if we wanted to.

That's not a bad idea, but then you have half the players on the old world and half on the new world. I think (I know it's hard to believe) that if we froze the old world, or made it available as a file for people to look at, but not really build on, then we could avoid a split situation but have the old builds to show our friends and stuff. |

If a reset were to happen, Idk if i'd stay. the time it took to vote to 501, the claim blocks I earned, the time and effort put into dozens of projects... it would be like ripping away that time and hard work, like the past year+ has been for nothing. I see the appeal in something fresh i do but taking it all away would be cruel. Maybe if there was a portal to a new sub world would be cool. but if not nope, not ok.

After you get to a certain point in playing, it grows stale and there's not much to do at all besides sitting in your base and talking in chat. exactly why i hang around spawn and don't do jack. after over a year and a half on the same map yea, i would support a reset. so many abandoned builds, everything raided, and tons of maxed out players with nothing to do. also i don't think "semivanilla" servers are able to make use of multiple worlds. could be wrong tho. |

Maybe if there was a way to go into a global chat over both realms? Or just stay in your own realms chat using a command. Not sure if that falls out of the semi vanilla category. |

I understand that you don't want to lose it all. I don't either. But from what I've seen online, you can make parts of a multiplayer world into a download. I know it won't be the same, as all the people are gone, but as I'm not a helper, I don't have much to look forward to when I get on. And I don't think you'd have to lose your rank either. |
