I keep thinking this when people bring up about not resetting the server, that being the history. Yes server running for 4 years will have history but most of these "historical" places and things are just abandoned, for example ION, and no new players gonna join actively search for those, except duck, most don't care, they cant really do anything there. Also, almost no old players are also go to these places, just talking or mentioning them. Server is clinging onto old memories without realizing it's choking out new players. Look at land around spawn, except for lucid, no one lives there and most new players has to use Rtp pad and those who don't have to walk long way. This is just my opinion. Hope i didn't offend anyone. Those places have a story. But like duck said towns come and towns go. It is fantastic to have epic towns with a lot of history. But with a new world you can write your own history and be part of that. I have seen the places around spawn but none of those names are known to me. The only active person around spawn is lucid the sandman. I feel like it is becomming a battle between keeping the history and removing it. Remember we need to do what is best for the server sometimes we need to bring sacrifices but it will all be for the better ofc.

Frank's shop, for example, has been sitting at one of the best spots possible for as long as I've been playing. It's completely abandoned, and confusing to people exploring the area around spawn. In fact, that's true like you said for pretty much all around spawn save Kitty and Lucid. Let's be real, in the case of a reset people are going to make a mad dash to all types of "valuable" places. Spawn's area will be claimed within a few hours. In six months, what percent of those people will actually be active at all? Is that short buzz of activity worth facing the same problem again in the future? A lot of this is why I don't support item transfer either, it accelerates the progression of starting over and could lead to a couple power players having the most important stuff. Normally that's fine, but look at how many once power players have left that stuff claimed for years.

Also note, that a good portion of players are SERIOUSLY Rich, the injection of tens of thousands of diamonds into a brand new economy would effectively wreck that economy and cause prices to skyrocket. This is true. I can speak for myself in that I have just over 34 stacks of db now. The thing is, I don't buy anything at all. I'm incredibly frugal. I just simply want to collect as many diamonds as I can. I also have the luxury of giving people random diamonds. The other day I made a little 5db donation to someone and that made me feel great. Making someone's day so they can afford to buy that beacon or that elytra just makes me happy. It's what drives me to spend 6 hours on a mapart straight. Getting to my point, I don't generally use my diamonds, therefore I personally would not be the one to wreck the economy. Trust me, I owned a shop for a while and I was a stickler with the economy. But, to say "you can't bring (insert amount here) diamonds because most people don't have that much and it would wreck the economy" kinda throws away a literal year of saving diamonds for me. The economy is going to change regardless. When drowned farms actually started to work, trident prices tanked. When the end was reset, elytra prices tanked. The economy goes up and down. Literally any change to anything will affect everything. I don't think having diamonds will solely alter the economy. Say, if everyone brings all their diamonds, the economy won't change really that much because everyone has the same amount that they had before. Also, prices for everything are going to soar anyway because people have to make new farms for everything. Time is money. The new economy becomes that. Let me give an example: materials for mapart. Each mapart takes 16,000 blocks. For perspective, this is 250 stacks of blocks, or just over 4 and a half dubs. If a reset happens, I will have to get dubs and dubs of materials all over again. Gold blocks are one of those materials, it takes a hellish amount of time to get any amount of gold blocks. With all the time it takes to get new materials *plus* making the actual mapart, I would be pretty disappointed if people put their noses up at any mapart priced over 5-10d. tl;dr: the economy is gonna change regardless of what restrictions you put on people......

I would prefer just a nether reset, but if it is decided for a full reset if it is possible can we keep all of our resources? I would hate to restart completely. The full reset would be good for players like me who joined not too long ago so we get a chance to explore and take over things like woodland mansions ect. But I feel if we loose everything but our inventory it wont be as good.

I would be alright with a nether reset at least, but if the world is reset I would definitely like to be able to keep my inventory if possible! Would help with setting up a base quicker in the new world.

Frank's shop, for example, has been sitting at one of the best spots possible for as long as I've been playing. It's completely abandoned, and confusing to people exploring the area around spawn. In fact, that's true like you said for pretty much all around spawn save Kitty and Lucid. Remove the ability to walk outside spawn and make the only way out through /tpa, /home or the Random Teleport Pad. Building outside spawn wouldn't give you a positional advantage then like Franks shop would, then again we wouldn't have something like the nether malls then, unless there was a portal in spawn somewhere, but that would defeat the purpose of not being able to walk outside the spawn region. I'd love to see how all options would play out. With a nether reset I imagine nether mall owners would have to retreat from it ASAP, Nether rail lines would have to be rebuilt to connect everything in the overworld together again, blaze, wither, and gold farms would have to be rebuilt, players would take one last trip into the fiery inferno to mine quartz. Besides the blaze farm that Julicious and I share I don't have much built in the nether. A full reset though? New players won't have to travel so damn far to find what they expect from a multiplayer server when a new update comes out. I'm looking at you 1.13. The shopping district may finally be able to build on land which is can grow from so that another district isn't required, dedicated former players like veil and edwardwesson (there are certainly others) that have been waiting for a reset for a long time coming back to play on simplex again. I get to take what I've learned from previous experiences and try something new this opportunity.
