I fully understand if someone is screaming curse words in all caps you have to mute them. But if this persons a regular on the server and has never been a problem before they should be given a chance to explain why. This everyone is treated equal thing sounds nice on paper but what it opens the door to is what happened today when a regular is screaming at someone being a pest and an admin logs in not seeing the entire thing and mutes the regular. I'm not saying there should be retribution or payback or whatever. I just think that a valued member of this server should have a chance to explain him/her self before being insta-muted.

I think this thread is rather useless and only serves to re-ignite the argument we had, but I will reply before locking it. The problem was extremely small compared to some of the other problems I've had with players on the server. Not once during any of those problems did I swear at the player in all caps. It solves nothing, and disrupts what other players are doing. Just because an injustice is done towards you, doesn't suddenly give you the platform to speak like that to another player. As soon as someone speaks like that, you lose the platform to defend yourself. This is nothing new. If you can't control your emotions, then it's not our problem. I'm not at all upset how the problem was dealt with. I would argue that the argument that ensued after the problem was solved, was actually worse than the problem itself.
