Changing the difficulty actually doesn't increase the number of monsters spawning, it only increases the amount of damage they deal. However, when lots of people are on there are gonna be loss mobs spawning because the maximum mobs allowed doesn't change. I haven't figured out a way for this number to change depending on the number of players on the server.

I'd love harder mobs. But then we'd have to deal with chat firing off how hard it is and everyone dying. Lol.

I agree, hard is good for experienced players, but not good for people who want a more laid-back atmosphere.

I usually play on hard myself on single player. That having been said, as meehan said, it only increases damage not number of mobs. I have been playing on the same claim since I started. I had three creepers on my house earlier. I dont need any more mobs lol. I also agree that having it on normal keeps the atmosphere more laid back... I like it as is for multiplayer. Thats my two cents.

Yeah. I will get just groups of creepers and skellys all night. If you want more mobs near you plant a stack of trees in a small area. Or build a mob room.
