Okay, this is getting a little ridiculous. For the past two weeks animals seem to spontaneously disappear from my barn. First all my pigs (I had about 10 or so), then all but two of my baby chickens. Now my skeleton horse with a saddle is gone! Chicken, pigs fine I can find more but that horse I collected as well as the saddle. My barn is within my claimed territory so they're (hopefully) not getting killed. Is there anyway to figure out if someone is coming onto my plot and taking my animals?!? Or look to see what happened? This is getting really frustrating.

Did they share the place with a lot of other mobs? If so the mob cap might play tricks on you. But I have had this happen to me over the past week as well. Three of my Guardians has vanished into thin air and it can not have been because of the cap.

I've a got a lot of sheep. But in chat it was being said that the mod that watches for excessive amounts of mobs count each group separately so my pigs, chickens and such shouldn't have been affected. But I'm not sure if that is correct. So I need to know if there is a monitoring software how does it work so I can build a separate barn for those critters.

Not sure if that's correct either, but I presume that's how it works since it is definitely based on type of entity per chunk, as minecarts wil despawn if there are over 9 in a chunk, while say villagers is over 40. I presume mixed entities in a chunk doesn't get treated any differently and each entity type still has its own cap and will not despawn if the cap for that type isn't reached, even if there are other (despawnable) entities in the chunk. Can't find documentation on this specifically.

Hum, I wonder if we can get someone to look at the mod then. I only had one horse so if what you said is true then it shouldn't have despawned at all (not unless a whole heard of skelly horses show up while I was offline).
