Note: No offense to ANYONE meant
After seeing LuckyCharms and co. get banned for expressing religion, it got me thinking: would me building something Hanukah related get me banned? If that isn't a yes, then idk why because that would be doing the same thing (in some ways) as Lucky's friends. If that is a yes, I would be banned, then that is wrong. If I get would get banned by expressing the Jewish religion, under the same logic, wouldn't Christmas builds get you banned for expressing the Christian religion? People might argue that they would never ban someone for expressing Christianity, but they've banned because of expressing Satanism, so I don't see why not. Other religions have to get used to people being biased towards Christian beliefs, but a Minecraft server is no place to argue and ban because of our beliefs.

oh for fuck sake. as much as others think Christmas is about religion, and yes some of it is to people who are of that religion, but to others who are of no faith what so ever can still do Christmas. Its about the giving without no thought of getting anything in return. AND Christmas was originally NOT a christian thing AT ALL!! it stemmed from a Pagan holiday. WHO SAID CHRISTMAS HAS TO BE FUCKING RELIGIOUS?!?! Also when i posted about the Christmas thing asking what others wanted and about the tree being built. a player mentioned being Jewish and I asked if he would like a Menorah built out of kindness, to do something nice for that player. he declined and said it was fine to do something Christmas related. (possibly because he will celebrate his religion's festivities at home with his family) This was something nice we wanted to do for the players that had NOTHING to do with religion. Why are you trying to ruin it? would you prefer we called it something else? "Kitty is at her wits end-athon" Now im not in retail anymore, i wanted to have fun this season. if you think the Christmas Town thing is offensive to you or your religion then simply dont go to it. no one is forcing you to. MisterTeapot specifically said NO religious things be built at Christmas town for that very reason. we're being fair to all religions by not having any at all involved. i didn't know santa, candy canes, and ginger bread houses were only for Christians!! how dare I celebrate Christmas when im NOT CHRISTIAN. ***(sarcasm)*** ridiculous.

Christmas was originally a pagan festival....a time celebrated by the general populus....its links with Christianity were only so the church could make the celebration acceptable to its set of beliefs. Minecraft is a place for fun....not a place to impress upon others religious beliefs or political things....there are plenty of forums out there in the world of the internet for such things.
Christmas is a time to celebrate family, giving, peace and hope and love....in whatever form one decides to do it. At simplex...this is in the form of Christmas Town....if you don't like it...go somewhere else....

"Oh for f**** sake" Is that honestly a way to talk to players? Christ·mas/ noun 1. the annual Christian festival celebrating Christ's birth, held on December 25 in the Western Church.
"The first recorded date of Christmas being celebrated on December 25th was in 336, during the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine (he was the first Christian Roman Emperor). A few years later, Pope Julius I officially declared that the birth of Jesus would be celebrated on the 25th December."
Educate yourself before talking down to and cursing at players stating their opinion.

Christmas derived from the the Saturnalia holiday, that took place between December 17th to December 25th. Simply, the holiday was to destroy the forces of darkness which ended with brutally murdering an innocent man or woman as a sacrifice. Fast forward to the fourth century, Chistians try to import Saturnalia as a way to convert a large number of pagans by promising to celebrate the Saturnalia holiday as a Christian holiday. Once they settled on this, it was agreed to place Saturnalia only on December 25th so the Christians can celebrate the holiday as well.
After many years, the holiday was swayed left and right and evetually became a holiday dedicated to Jesus himself, and the holiday was later named Christmas. As further time went by, the Christians wanted more people to celebrate the holiday. Eventually the idea of Santa, elves, and all of those jolly figures were thought up as a way to persuade people to. Looking at the present, Christmas is not much of a Christian holiday anymore. It's a holiday dedicated to kindness, helping others, being with family (blood related or not), and boosting the economy. Now days we see those of different relgiions celebrate Christmas because of this.
The term Christmas, the Christian ideals, and traditions that came along with the holiday came from the Christians, but the holiday itself started out with the roman pagans celebrating life and doing human sacrifice as a way to fear off the dark spirits. I'm certain everyone here knows well enough that Christmas shouldn't really be considered a religious holiday anyways, although we can also argee that there are still a large number of people who do celebrate Christmas for religious purposes. So please, there is no need to argue and get our undergarments in a twist.

Well it is called Christmas, the whole holiday is supposed to be about Christs birth. so there you go. His no overly religious rule is stupid which is why I am going to pass this event up. you are free to celebrate Christmas as a time for family but that does not remove the Christ from the mas

After seeing LuckyCharms and co. get banned for expressing religion... I'm pretty sure that is not the reason they were banned. I feel this might be applicable...

I have since stepped down from being staff but i'd simply like to say that they weren't banned for "expressing religion," thats just what they claimed in defense. They were banned for building a giant swastika and saying heil hitler or some shit in chat and other stupid/inappropriate behavior which can be offensive to others. I've actually seen/caught plenty of trolls doing this kind of thing while staff and removed them and their creations from the server. They were warned first and took it down but simply continued building controversial things and giving the staff a hard time. That's what inevitably got them the ban, which I myself suggested. None of the staff members are trying to suppress anyones religious freedom, just stupid behavior.
