Halloween 2023 Mapart Competition

Hello Simplexians! 
Since spooky season is almost upon us, I thought it would be a fun idea to launch a Halloween-themed map art competition! We have some amazingly talented map artists on Simplex, and what better way to showcase that than this event.
If you enjoy making mapart, being creative on the server, or want to try something completely new, then keep reading to know all the in's and out's of this upcoming event.
Theme: Halloween
From spiders, to witches, to skeletons, to pumpkins, to vampires. Create any map art that you think fits this spooky and scary theme.
When:
You have until today (Sunday, September 24th) until midnight on Friday, October 27th to submit ONE entry that fits the theme.
October 28th - October 30th: voting polls will open on this forum post; results will not be shown until October 31st, the day of Halloween
October 31st: the winner and runner-ups are announced on this forum post and on the Simplex Discord in the #simplex channel
How do I participate?
- Respond to this forum post, OR
- Send me a mail in-game (/mail send AquariusBlue ...), OR
- Send me a message on Discord
What is the prize?
- 1st place: 128 diamond blocks
- 2nd place: 32 diamond blocks
- 3rd place: 16 diamond blocks
Any remaining participants will get a shulker of mapart materials (wool, terracotta, etc.) as a participation prize.
Every participant will also receive a special Halloween banner.
How many entries can I submit?
You may only submit 1 entry for voting.
If I am done with my entry, what do I do?
1. Respond to this forum post with a screenshot of your mapart in an item frame. Write a short description including:
- Your current in-game username
- A fitting name for your mapart
- What your map art is of
- Anything else you would like to add (for example: where you can buy it in the SD or the marketplace)
2. Drop the mapart into the hopper at plot #6-7 in the shopping district (purple/cyan/light blue shop located in the inner ring, dropbox is located inside the shop and to the left). If you do not have access to the shopping district or other reason, send me a /mail in-game or send me a Discord message.
I will be making a small map art gallery of the entries of the participants, which players can visit during the voting period (October 28th - October 30th).
How big can my mapart be?
No limit; think big and be as creative as you want to be!
Can I use a mapart that I made before this competition?
No, the mapart must be new.
Do I have to use my own materials to make the mapart?
Preferably, yes. If you lack some materials or need advice where to buy materials, please let me know!
Do I have to use my own mapart platform?
Yes. I will not be providing mapart platforms during this competition.
Will I have the rights to sell my mapart?
Of course! After you have finished your mapart, you can do whatever you want with it (give it out to players, sell it at your shop, etc.)
I am not buying the rights to any mapart in this competition; you get to keep that entirely.
Can I work with other people?
Yes, you can work together with other players and submit an entry as a group.
You may also choose to work alone and submit an entry on your own; whatever you prefer!
How can my entry get disqualified?
- Submitting an old mapart
- Submitting an inappropriate map art
- Submitting a mapart that clearly does not fit the theme
