A Guide to Helper Applications
The Role of a Helper
Me, and the rest of the staff of Simplex, are always looking out for potential players who can take on the job of keeping our community clean, and by doing so, allowing the rest of the players to have the most enjoyable experience possible. The people who take on this role are called Helpers. First of all, the job of a Helper is strictly to moderate the chat. This means taking care of people who insult or abuse others, advertise, use foul language, spam the chat, or break any chat rule. Thus, a Helper will only be given essential moderating commands that are needed to do their job such as /kick and /mute. Obviously, this is still a lot of power, and it is difficult to find a mature person who can use this power for the good of the server, and not for when it suits their own needs and feelings. A Helper has to be neutral, putting it simply a Helper MUST NOT use their emotions when deciding outcomes. They must do their best to be fair, just and logical at all times. A Helper who does not put these values first will not be tolerated by me, the staff, or the rest of the community.
In order to be a Helper, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be AT LEAST 15 years old
- Have the rank 'Journeyman'
- Must be relatively active on the server (1 hour/day)
Helper Application Format
To make a Helper Application, first navigate to the "Helper Applications" forum subcategory, then click the "Create Thread" button on the right-hand side of the page above the search bar.
Include your Minecraft username in the subject. For example, Subject: Steve's Helper Application
Then, make sure your application follows the format below
Name: 'Minecraft Username'
Age: ##
Rank: 'In-Game Server Rank'
Occupation: 'Occupation' (optional)
Timezone: 'Timezone (GMT+-XX:XX)'
How long have you been playing minecraft: 'Since XXXX'
Application: 'Type here why you think you should be helper in 100 words or more'
Make sure you submit a poll with the Poll Question as "Should 'Minecraft Username' Be Helper?", and the Answers set to 'Yes' and 'No'

Additional Information
- Your application will be read and discussed among the staff. If we decide to accept your application, an Admin will reach out to you via discord. If undecided, your application will stay up for deliberation (This could take many months, in one case it took a year). If we feel the application or player does not meet the requirements, we will take down the application with a private message to the applicant.
- In order to keep your application from being deleted, please bump your post once every 3-4 months (and no sooner) stating your intent that you are still interested.
- Applications which do not follow the application format will be promptly deleted.
- Whilst it is considered important to have the backing of the community, the results of the poll are not always indicative of the staff's decision.
