Hey all, me again back with this year's Community Survey! This survey is all about you, the community! I want to learn more about your history and preferences in Minecraft and Simplex, as well as some basic information about you. The survey is live from today (November 5th) until Saturday, November 19th. Click here to complete it via Google Forms! Just like previous years, this survey is totally anonymous so I nor anyone else will be able to connect your responses back to you. I’m back with survey results! This year, we had 46 participants. Thank you to every one of you for participating! I’ve attached images at the end of this post with figures to display results. All in all, results this year seem to be generally consistent with last year’s, but I imagine that may be because of how many returning participants we have. Since it’s more difficult to statistically analyze open-ended questions, I’ll provide some commentary and summaries for those question instead. Simplex players reported many ideas for what they’d want to see in a future Minecraft update. The most common responses included new world generation such as new biomes, End updates, and more generated structures. Players also requested new blocks such as more stair and slab variants, and new mobs such as fireflies, “funky little guys” and more aquatic mobs. Technical updates and game-mechanic changes such as another combat update or better inventory management features were also requested. I thought the wide variety of answers here to be interesting! As I expected, Simplex players largely said their favorite part of the server is the community. The social atmosphere here seems to be a huge positive for lots of players! Several players also said the economy and shops are important to them too. Some feedback was also requested as I asked players what they wish was different about Simplex. Some changes to the shopping district, such as the structure or more action to fix the lag, was a common answer. Respondents also stated they wished the community was more active as it used to be. More server events were also requested! Players also gave feedback about Simplex events specifically. More events including smaller scale and/or non-PvP events such as parkour or hide and seek were the most popular requests by survey participants.
