Hello Simplexians! For the first time I will be hosting a themed competition: the May/June 2021 Mapart Competition!
If you enjoy making mapart, being creative on the server, or want to try something completely new, then this is the perfect competition for you.
If you are interested, please read the information below carefully.
Theme:
Animal
When:
You have until today (May 12th) until June 12th to submit ONE entry that fits the theme.
June 13th - 16th: voting polls will open on this forum post; results will not be shown until June 17th
June 17th: the winner and runner-ups are announced
How do I participate?
Very easy - just respond to this forum post or send me a mail in-game (/mail send AquariusBlue [msg]) that you would like to participate.
What is the prize?
Winner gets 128db (2 stacks of diamond blocks).
2nd and 3rd place get 16db each.
Remaining participants have submitted an entry will get a shulker of mapart materials (wool, terracotta, including the shulker) as a participation prize.
How many entries can I submit?

If I am done with my entry, what do I do?
1. Respond to this forum post with a screenshot of your mapart in an item frame. Write a short description including:
- Your in-game username
- The name you have given your mapart
- What the mapart is and why you chose it
- How the mapart fits the theme
2. Drop the mapart into my dropbox at plot #25 in the shopping district (rainbow shop in the 2nd ring, dropbox is located inside the shop and to the left). If you do not have access to the shopping district, send me a /mail. I will be making an art gallery of the entries of the participants, which players can visit during the voting period (June 13th - June 16th).
How big can my mapart be?
Maximum 6 maps
Can I use a mapart of an animal that I made previous to this competition?
No, the mapart must be new and completed in the period May 12th - June 12th.
If you submit an old mapart, then your entry will be disqualified.
Do I have to use my own materials to make the mapart?
Yes, you do. But as a participation prize, you will gain a shulker of mapart materials (see Prizes).
Do I have to use my own mapart platform?
Yes. I will not be providing mapart platforms during this competition.
Will I have the rights to sell my mapart?
Of course! After you have finished your mapart, you can do whatever you want with it (give it out to players, sell it at your shop, etc.)
I am not buying the rights to any mapart in this competition; you get to keep that entirely.
How can my entry get disqualified?
- Submitting an old mapart
- Submitting an inappropriate mapart (please use your common sense to figure out what is appropriate and what not...)
- Submitting a mapart that clearly does not fit the theme (i.e. no animal or animals in the mapart)
- Submitting a mapart larger than 6 maps
