*Hey, Hi and Hello to you all; the people of the Simplex Forums. Now recently, I've been slowly running out of things to do, which leads to occasional intense boredom, so to fight off the urge of jumping out of my bedroom window, (which by the why, that's a joke, a very bad one, but a joke none the less. I wouldn't really do that. I'm sensible enough to NOT do that.) I decided to design and create a Logo for the Simplex server. "Why?" you ask? Well it's quite Simple; Because I can, and I will. So Yeah. But yes, I created a Logo for the Simplex Server out of my own willingness, and I also wanted to get back into being creative and make something artsy, as I've not done so properly since I graduated from college/ Uni. Wanted to get my creative flow going. So yeah, in the end, this is what was created this;
*UPDATE - 10/10/2016: *Thought I'd change it up a bit, fix a few things here and there, experiment a little by adding a few things here and there and I ended up with this;
*I think that the background looks a little better, especially the night sky half that has been added. But I also believe that there could be a few things about it that I could of tweeked a little, like the white boarder, and maybe I could turn up the brightness on the night sky itself a little. But I like it as it is now for the time being.
====================
*Okay, I did a little bit more of some editing to the Logo, another revisit, I will call it. I basically did something about the white outline, and brought down the opacity of it slightly, and I have to say, it looks a tad better, doesn't look as weird, or pop out as much;
*So yeah...That's all I wanted to show, if you wanna comment go ahead, but be mindful of what you say, like, basically use you're common sense; if you're gonna just say something to offend or do harm, then like don't bother. If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. But yeah, I hope you lot approve of this. And yeah, thanks for reading. This is FeritWolf95, signing off. See ya!

Too much drop shadow, text too small, too many details crammed in, the contrasting background colour is pretty bad.

Too much drop shadow, text too small, too many details crammed in, the contrasting background colour is pretty bad. *So to put in short, what you're trying to say is; "I don't like it at all." ??
*I feel that shadow and shading is good for showing off depth to a image, and I knew to make the shadows not too dark but dark enough to be slightly visible, but I suppose there could of been less shadow, but I'm still happy with it. I could of added more stuff to it, and I was going to, but I decided against it and felt that there was enough there to show off. And I see your point with text bit though. The text could be bigger, but I didn't wanna risk making it too big otherwise it'd cover the rest of the logo. I like how it came out anyway. But I guess that it's something to think about. But yeah, thanks for your input.

So to put in short, what you're trying to say is; "I don't like it at all." ?? Yup. The reasons being primarily what I said. A logo is supposed to be a logo, not a wallpaper.

A logo is supposed to be a logo, not a wallpaper. *Fair enough, that's your opinion I suppose. But you see good sir, an opinion, is an opinion you see. It's not necessarily the truth. For example; I know for a fact that it is a Logo, and that it's definitely not a wallpaper, as the dimensions and shape of the image are too off for it to be one. But there you go, it is what it is, you have your opinions, and I have mine.
*PS Oh by the way, if you're gonna throw negative comments like that, you could at least do me the curtsy of transforming all that negative/ hate information into a form of well balanced critique or some form of helpful advice. In other words; you could NOT be a Rude Dude, or a Salty Sam. But then again like I said; You have your opinions, and I have mine. Good day to you good sir. ;P

it was constructive criticism, not a rude comment. Negative sounding comments aren't always bad comments.
Edit:
Like look, I'm not going to type 10 times as much as needed just to make the comment seem more appealing but hold the exact same message.
>Too much drop shadow, text too small, too many details crammed in, the contrasting background colour is pretty bad.
>>some form of helpful advice
Lower the opacity of the drop shadow and make it extend less. Somehow make the text bigger and try to come up with a simpler design that doesn't have as many individual elements to it. Also the bright blue background and darker foreground elements create a contrast that makes it harder to focus on the foreground. Changing this so that the foreground elements stand out and the background colour doesn't as much is probably a good idea.
Those paragraphs I wrote tell you the exact same thing, but one requires you to apply criticism and the other doesn't, but say essentially the same thing as far as I'm concerned. Try reading comments with the assumption that they're positive and you might actually get something out of them instead of assuming they're hateful.
I find it a waste of time to phrase things in an elaborate manner and being extra nice for the sake of hoping to be liked, so I phrase things the way I do. Productivity>All when it comes to text chat. Once again, it doesn't mean they're actually negative comments.
Anyway, I could write a book on this, but I'll leave it at that.

Now I'll take up what you have to say, I see what you mean the shadows and text, so I shall probably go back and work on those two things later on, but I don't see much problem with the design layout nor the background colour, for I feel that they compliment each other in some way. So both the design and background shall stay the way as it is. But I thank you for your better input. See? That wasn't so difficult now was it? Cause now I actually have something I can work with. The first comment was not constructive criticism by the way, you were basically saying what you didn't like about it, and nothing else. There was no advice on how to improve and you basically left me with nothing to go on with. Now if you just said that slightly lengthier comment to start off with, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But again, I appreciate your advice. And I wish you a good day bud. ;P

Woah man.. All he said was that he didn't like the logo. *Yup I am aware of this, and believe me or not, but that's me chill. lol But yeah, at the end of the day, if you post up an image on the internet and they say they don't like it without a reason or some advice on how to improve to follow up with that. Then really it's no help at all, and that makes me react like; "What's the point in commenting?" and stuff like that stresses me out slightly. Reason why I said in the post; "If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." And that's because I cannot be arsed putting up with comments like that. lol But it's all dust in the wind now, so be cool.
