- Why you have been banned/Jailed/muted (If you don't know simply state that)
I have no idea. Someone please explain what I'm being accused of?
- Reason why you think we should unban/unjail/unmute you
As far as I'm aware, I didn't do anything wrong.
I spent most of last night walking around the shopping district and taking notes about who sells what. I purchased a few stacks of bone blocks from kitty. Dunno why I'm in jail.

Update: Phleanix [H+] helped me in Discord chat. He gave me some mixed messages saying that the jail logs were private to "prevent harrassment" then told me I was banned for reverse theft in nether shops, then I asked a few more questions and he kinda got mad at me and told me "This isn't the place for the discussion. All appeals are handled on the forum. They're public for a reason." which is kinda confusing. So I'm not sure if I'm supposed to talk about this in private or in public. He also said "You may well have been the cause of the shops being closed..." to me in discord.. which is honestly just outright disrespectful when I'm trying to appeal. :[
Edit: I'm still really thankful to him for telling me what the jail reason was, I just think he could have been a bit less accusatory about it.
I didn't steal anything from any shop, either in the nether district or /warp shop. Whatever evidence says otherwise is clearly incorrect.. so I would appreciate it if a mod could reach out to me either privately (via Discord DM) or publicly (on this forum, if public is the preferred way to resolve this). I'd like to understand where the system broke down so that I can help prevent false accusations in the future. I've been on this server a long time and really enjoy it, and have moderated on multiple other Minecraft servers, so any information I can provide to help improve the process is yours for the taking.
I know y'all are busy and every person ever says "omg i'm innocent", but I'm a 29-year-old guy with better things to do than steal virtual items from my friends and peers. I can provide references from staff I've worked with on other servers if you want to fact check my age / maturity or whatever so I can help you all out. Just trying to make the server better for everyone!
Thanks!
P.S. I know I'm only in jail for 9 more hours. This post is less about me getting out of jail and more about understanding how I ended up here so we can prevent it in the future.

Hello, you reverse shopped some logs in the shop next to mine on the nether roof. The signs say to "Sell your items here" So the shop owner is requesting the items listed on the chests, not you buying the items with diamonds. I was unsure if this was a simple misunderstanding of the signs so I only jailed you a day and did not ban you from the shopping district. Some shops buy items instead of selling them, reading the signs is important. I have also told the shop owner to adjust and make more signs stating they are buying not selling items. I will unjail you shortly.

At the risk of being inflamatory...
I didn't get mad at you, I replied to your questions and told you to wait for the appeal to be replied to.
The logs are private. You publicly requested the reason for *your* punishment, it was given to you. I'm not sure where the confusion is here? You could have asked to be DMed your 'crime' or waited for the response here if you didn't want it to be replied to in Discord.
Appeals are done publicly so people can see when genuine account appeals are made that there are reasons behind the actions taken by staff. i.e. we're not jailing/banning people for no reason. It also allows people to learn from other peoples mistakes - By the old Gods and the New, we all make them.
EDIT: By genuine account appeals, I'm referring to the fact that we jail/ban/mute many accounts. Many of which will never make an appeal as they're stolen/hacked accounts. Those aren't needed to be seen "publicly".
"You may well have been the cause of the shops being closed" isn't an accusation, nor do I think it's disrespectful. Shops are usually closed when there is theft. You were jailed for theft. If you were unaware that you have indeed committed an offence, it would be possible you're the cause of the closure.
That's not an accusation, that's explaining what may have happened.
Kitty has responded to your appeal above. Please read more carefully in future.
Happy Gaming, Phleanix

Some shops buy items instead of selling them, reading the signs is important. I have also told the shop owner to adjust and make more signs stating they are buying not selling items. I will unjail you shortly. Hey Kitty, Thanks for looking at this. I just went and looked at LostAccount's shop and he has invented a weird system where one side of his shop is a "buy" section, but the signs on the chests don't clearly state that. There's one sign toward the front of the shop that's very easy to miss. Each individual chest says things like "Gunpowder 2D/stack", "Iron Blocks 1D/stack", etc. Every other shop on the server that buys goods has signs clearly stating on each chest whether the deal is a Buy or Sell deal. All shop plugins I've ever seen also have this functionality, so you could reasonably expect that's what every Minecraft player is going to be looking for, not a random sign somewhere else in the shop very far away from the chest. I wish LostAccount could have just contacted me directly via /mail or Discord and asked me about it. I would have happily returned the logs I "stole" from his confusing shop. It's really not fun to be accused of something that's so easy to misinterpret. Can we at least have a rule on the server that "buy" chests need to be labeled directly (within ~2 blocks of the chest) if they're not normal items for sale? Any reasonable person would expect e.g. "Gunpowder 2D/stack" to mean they can buy gunpowder from that chest. Thanks for your time, Dandy

How could I have known it was you? I dont have access to logblock. I've seen many customers pass through my shop recently, as we just opened recently. It seems to make sense for them, how does it not make sense for you? No new rules or plugins need to be added because you can't pay attention to some signs when you walk into a shop, Aswell as the fact my advertisement clearly states, you SELL your items.
EDIT: (Because I forgot to add it when I was writing this) I accepted your apology, forgave you, said it's all good, there's no more that needs to be done about it.

It seems to make sense for them, how does it not make sense for you? No new rules or plugins need to be added because you can't pay attention to some signs when you walk into a shop [...] I don't understand why everyone on this server is so defensive about me making a simple suggestion that people label their chests more clearly? When I mentioned it in chat, a few people were reasonable but a bunch of people jumped down my throat accusing me, calling me stupid, telling me I can't read, etc. The current signage is obviously not good enough, because I missed it and I'm almost certainly above average when it comes to reading signs and being very mindful not to steal or grief. Please stop going on the offense and consider the other side's point of view.. your signs are far from the chests and the ones that are immediately on the chests don't clearly state that they're "buy" deals. You're free to disagree with my suggestion, but please do not tell me I can't "pay attention", and imply that I'm somehow a lesser person because it "it seems to make sense for them, how does it not make sense for you?". It's extremely immature and disrespectful. Just because some people notice the sign, doesn't make it a good practice. I genuinely appreciate that, but I disagree that there's not more that can be done to prevent people from being jailed for this mistake in the future.
