Hello I am doing this appeal so that the mods don't think I am simply ignoring this incident and not addressing it.

A few days ago another player made a comment about being a male stripper and making out with men for money. I jumped on this comment and asked several graphic questions taking things a step further, such as "how much would it cost for you to give a blowjob" or "is your wife okay with you going around kissing men for money." I then pressed the subject further by asking him how much he enjoyed this kind of work. Then finally I asked him "how many diamonds would I have to pay you to talk dirty to phantom" at which point several players shut off their chat. Throughout the incident players had repeatedly expressed their discomfort with the subject but I took this not as a reason to stop, but as a reason to keep going, because I thought it was hilarious. The subject did not bother me, so I laughed at others' reactions.
After the fact it was pretty clear that the entire conversation violated the rules, and I expressed that I will likely be muted for a very long time. When I logged in and saw my soft mute it came as no surprise to me.
I accept full responsibility for my actions. Although driven by impulse as most of my actions are, I knew pretty well what I was doing, I knew what the ramifications are, and I tossed common sense out the window for something that I thought was funny (even if an overwhelming majority of the server did not find it amusing). I enjoy taking things that by themselves would raise eyebrows (making out with people for money) and pushing them for shock value humor. In other instances I create controversy myself for my own amusement. I do not limit this type of behavior to this server, it carries over in real life, and has created problems among friends, family, and work, although most of the people who stick with me accept my sense of humor.
I understand, however, that as a member of this server, I follow your set of standards, not mine. I should cater my behavior towards your rules, rather than you cater your rules to my sense of humor. This has been a constant struggle among staff to get me to abide by this rule, that while we as a server enjoy a good joke, there is no place for tasteless humor. It has been said before in the server that it's only a joke if the other members find it funny.
All this is why here today, I do not ask you to lift my mute. I do not even ask you to shorten my mute. If I was unmuted, I would be well behaved for a few days (that's being very generous) but then I would go back to my old habits. This indefinite mute shall serve as a learning experience, and as a statement that my type of behavior will no longer be tolerated. I hope some day in the future I will learn to control my actions and that I will be ready to communicate with other players in a respectful manner.
I have enjoyed my time at this server and in this community, and I hope you have enjoyed having me. I hope that I can be a productive member of this server for many years to come.
