Minecraft Username: epicborg Punishment and Duration: 7 Day Temp-Ban Reason:X-Ray Appeal: I do a lot of mining on the server for supplies so I can build my redstone machines and am therefor unable to accurately pinpoint what issue would have caused this ban. I will however provide information about the event I think is likely to have caused the ban. I went mining in my strip mine to get more iron, gold, and redstone for a auto-smelter I have been working on. While doing this most recently I ended up finding lots of diamonds along the way, so many in fact it put me onto the diamond mining limit (I am not sure what this means in respect to the ban however). While mining in my strip mine and I sometimes go in different directions in the mine because I want to avoid caves, lava, and other peoples mines. I know that this can often lead to extremely suspicious branches that will, every once in a while inevitably, encounter diamonds. I would like to request that this ban be looked into as I do think (in my own completely biased opinion) that I am not guilty of X-Raying.
Respectfully,
epicborg
P.S. I am sorry for posting this appeal so soon after my last appeal (in respect to a shop ban) and I hope it does not count as a type of spam.

Greetings, and thank you for your courteous appeal. You mined a great deal of diamonds in a short period of time, that's true. Some players do this via strip mining or beacon mining, and it's clear (and LogBlock supports) that what they did was not xray. And then there's the cases like yours. Here are three sites, pictured. Diamonds which were mined by you were rolled back for purposes of the screen shots. Site 1: you were apparently strip mining, but then for no apparent reason paused to mine out to the side... where there happened to be a large vein of diamonds, behind nothing but several layers of stone.
Site 2: mined to the side, diamonds quite a distance from the main tunnel. Some iron ore in the way (the little dogleg, visible), but not visible from the main tunnel (covered by stone), and more stone between the iron and the diamonds. No apparent reason to decide to mine there instead of somewhere else... and no apparent reason to keep mining in that direction, far past the iron, unless you could see the diamonds through the stone.
Site 3: If you had been doing "poke holes", I would have taken this as just another one which happened to find diamonds. But there aren't any, ever, elsewhere in your tunnel. Only like here, where there are diamonds. Screenshot shows a long run of the tunnel, with (as you can see) no side holes.
None of these three sites were "mining around lava" or "avoiding caves" (in fact, you tunneled straight through a couple of smallish voids in your strip mine). And your mines are the only ones in that stretch.
The tempban stands. Please don't xray again. A 2nd time will be a permanent ban from this server.
Thanks, and see you in (what's left of) a week.
