Summer is almost over and a new season is dawning -- as we all move into the next chapter of our lives, we must look boldly to the future. In conjunction with Borderville and Treecroft, Teapot Industries is thrilled to annouce: "The Future Is Now!" A short and privately held build competition with great prizes, and a sci-fi theme! Got an idea for the most disgusting bug-eyed monster ever, the coolest rocketship, or something in a dome? A computer that can add only prime numbers? Or maybe a robot that apologizes every time it swears? We want you!
- Registration is required and is open immediately -- build area is limited to 10 slots, so first come first serve.
- Competition is open to helpers/admin as well as general public - most times staff tends to get excluded from these types of events, so I thought a private comp would give you guys a chance to let your light shine bright!
- Cleared build area with subdivisions provided, as well as crafting tables, auto-stoves, chests and a Speed II beacon. Lots are 21x21. Located just behind TPHQ, the site is easily accessible from /spawn (site is at roughly x:100 z:700).
- Registration fee is 2 Diamonds, and will be refunded upon contest end. This is to prevent people from abusing the starting chests, and as a show of good faith.
- Competition opens Thursday, September 1 at 8:30am PST and closes Thursday, September 15, 7pm PST.
Once you've registered, you will get container trust to your plot so you can begin accumulating materials. At the contest start time I will convert these trusts to full build trusts.
Each player will begin with:
- 2 Stacks Unstained (Clear) Glass
- 2 Stacks Unstained Hardened Clay
- 2 Stacks Uncolored (White) Wool
- 2 Stacks Snow Block
- 2 Stacks Nether Brick
- 2 Stacks Dirt (for scaffolding)
Use 'em, trade 'em, toss 'em or eat 'em, this is just something to get you started.
Prizes will be awarded in three categories:
People's Prize - Competitors will be rated by forum members on a poll running from Thursday, September 15 through Sunday September 19, 12pm PST.
Judge's Prize - Competitors will be judged by a panel consisting of Mister Teapot, Draegon (Treecroft) and AdamAndCaleb (Borderville).
Wacky Cathy Prize - Awarded by a celebrity judge, this award goes to the player who has shown the most outside of the block thinking.
- Winners will be announced Sunday, September 19, just after the public polls are closed.
- Competitors can win in multiple categories.

Winner of the Judge Prize will pick first, followed by the winner of the People's Prize, and then the Wacky Cathy.
