Hey, I am wondering if the server got custom recipes would it still count as one of those vanilla servers.
If it is possible I am wondering if a crafting recipe made of 3 course dirt in a slab formation could get you 6 petrified oak slabs.
Asken cause some texture packs use that pet. oak slab as course dirt/dirt slab.

Well, technically custom crafting recipes can be done entirely through vanilla means, though I'm not sure what exactly server listing websites consider and don't consider to be semi-vanilla. Ignoring that though, I don't think we'll ever be adding custom crafting recipes as it's just not what is expected of vanilla or even sem-vanilla gameplay, and it very quickly goes into modded territory. You have no idea how much I'd like to add renewable stuff like shulker shells, sand, gravel, sponges, etc., but I don't think that'll happen on this server specifically as it's outside of what it aims to be.
For what it's worth though. You might be able to do some magic with regular oak slabs (change its texture) if they're placed above a specific block using optifine's connected textures functionality.
