Hello,
I was recently banned from a minecraft server because the administrators thought I was using x-ray to locate diamonds. I openly confirm that I was NOT using an x-ray pack to locate diamonds but understand why the administrators thought I was cheating. I mined down to level 12 in this server and found a large cave. I observed that the cave had already been explored and decided to start a strip mine moving in the opposite direction. I was trying to avoid blocks like dirt and gravel so I didn't have to switch out tools and was doing what is called "Random Mining". I came across a patch of diamonds within the first 50 blocks which I inevitably mined and proudly announced to the chat that I had found my first diamonds in the server. This was a cluster of 8 diamonds which I wrote into the chat as well. Several minutes later after continuing to mine straight unless coming upon dirt or gravel blocks, I discovered another patch of diamonds. This was out of pure luck, and I was not using any x-ray pack of any kind. I again, announced that I found another 8 diamonds in the chat excitedly, then proceeded to question whether I should create tools or armor first out of the diamonds, then also questioned whether I should make an enchanting table or a nether portal with my obsidian. An admin on the server promptly explained to me that I was about to be banned for using x-ray on the server. Given that I was random mining and I came across 16 diamonds, it is a fair reason to ban someone -- IF they are using an x-ray pack, which I was not. I understand that there is not a lot of evidence in my favor, but I have never used an x-ray software on a server. The only time I've used a software like x-ray is on my personal minecraft world to see if and how it works. I would never cheat on a public server because it isn't a good/right thing to do. Please understand my appeal, and I get if you won't give me a reduced punishment, but please consider it because I have done nothing wrong.
