Hey everyone,
I sometimes have wifi here in Poland, so I've logged in a few times and have been reading here when I can.
I know there's a lot of suggestions here about top donators or something, but I think some sort of monthly system would be even better.
Currently, all but one perk is a one time purchase. Either you can donate for others or donate for claim blocks (which is really just a way to help out when you can, which is great).
I don't really have any ideas about what the monthly perks could be, but I think it would encourage donations from recurring members who want to help out.

We have looked into other things with donations but it is tough with the new Eula rules. These rules have made it difficult to come up with ideas that don't give advantages... I'm sure the admins will always be open for suggestions.

I strongly agree that we need more donation perks. I love to help the server out in any way when I can, and having more incentives to donate makes it easier for me to help out. I've already donated for everything, and I even took the scenic-more expensive route to get myself all of the commands. I've also donated for other players, such as Vitalia, Meehan, LunalaEclipse, Jonawebb, and Unknowndude12. I also bought claim blocks under my own name twice, even though to be completely honest I don't have a need for them as I already have enough as it is. The difficult part in adding new perks is that they both have to be EULA compliant and semi-vanilla. There aren't a lot of options that would fit both of these criteria and be on a per-month basis. A while ago though, I had an idea to add colorful text into anvils. It would be similar to color codes in chat, and would allow players who have donated for this perk to use colored names on their tools and items. Although it is a lot similar to the color codes, it could be an entirely different package and would give players another reason to donate. It would have been an easy addition, and there was a lot of support for it back in the day so I'm not sure why it never got added. I'd donate for that. Another idea for something purely cosmetic would be to sell dragon eggs. In the past, there was a use for them, but now they're just a status symbol and cosmetic. Which are a good combination for a donation perk. Armor stands could also be something we work with, as there's a lot of things that armor stands can do that the average player isn't capable of performing without commands. Maybe add a plugin which allows players to customize their armor stands, and make it a donation perk- since it's cosmetic. Whether or not any of my suggestions are added, I would still love to see new donation perks available as it would give me more reasons to donate. I love to help out the server when I can, but it's getting harder to justify my spending if I'm just donating for the same stuff. |

While I'm sure even Meehan would like to try bathing in money, I'd be mind-blown if he adds any sort of subscription service that you have to renew every month for Simplex. This is the least money-hungry public minecraft server I've ever seen, and it seems to survive just fine. Also, personally I strongly disagree with the entire idea of temporary perks for donating. A 'loyalty badge' or something? Sure, whatever. Actual things you can do something with? Nah. I think it would have allowed you to format the text, including the 'text scroll'/'censored text', which we didn't want. Don't quote me on that though as I might be wrong. I'd donate for that. IF this ever gets added, I was thinking of something similar. A short 'badge' next to your rank/username, basically. Possibly even increment the look of the badge depending on the amount of months in a row you've donated for, though I'm not sure if we can actually do this part without adding more plugins. Or maybe even some simple particles around you that last for a month that you can show off. Another idea for something purely cosmetic would be to sell dragon eggs. Personally, if this was my server I'd rather just make the ender dragon 'drop' a egg for every kill. Dragon eggs are pretty cool building block, and you'd still have to put in a fair bit of effort to get a decent amount of them for your builds. For what it's worth, we did try out the color anvils. I can color things on an anvil. (NO I will not color things for people so don't ask.) I just tried out to see if I could use the other & codes to see if I could use them. I could not. (so no bold, italic, crazy text, ect only colors) So I would support that as a donation perk.
