So I know when you hit god rank you can choose to be any of the major Greek gods as well as Shrek. I think for the god rank the admins should also add the options to become a minor god as well. You don't have to do all the minor gods but you should do some. It would give more decisions and I think it might be cool! P.S. If you do do this you should totally let me be Hypnos god of sleep  |

I’m not a staff member, but there are 15 god ranks to choose from, and I don’t think any more will be added.
In the past, players have suggested more God ranks, but with 15, that’s more than enough to choose from.

I agree, too many of the same running around. I do kind of like the idea of each "God" being rather unique. They could open it up with more major and minor gods. The issue I see with that though is if "Poseidon" hasn't logged in for a year do we strip that God so someone else can use it or just let is sit essentially unused forever. There could even be different gods, like Norse or Egyptian (maybe, not sure we want Isis running around though) |

do we really need a god rank for every person who is a god?
keep in mind that there are only 16 color codes, so even with different rank names people would end up getting the same color combinations.
I wouldn't be against adding a few new god ranks, but we don't need to go overboard.

Those who reach god in certain time frames choose from a certain pantheon. As in start-current are the current greek gods. For the next year, new gods could be roman, norse the year after. I reached god rank after five months and 15 days of voting since I joined. I don’t think that I should receive any special accomodations because of how quickly I reached god rank. Players usually take much longer than five months to reach god, and I only started in March 2018. There are some players who have played longer than me and didn’t reach god rank (for a number of reasons). As in start-current are the current greek gods. For the next year, new gods could be roman, norse the year after. I don't think color would be a big issue, I doubt people mind a color being reused. I definitely have to agree with the idea of more individuality for God ranks. Having multiple players with the same God name was EXTREMELY confusing when I first started on Simplex, and it still can be from time to time. I think the Idea of choosing from various pantheons of Gods shouldn't be out of the question as it would still communicate the "status" that goes with having a God rank while allowing for more individuality and, therefore, less confusion among new players and more autonomy among long-time players. This obviously wouldn't affect everyone and since there is not an overly large number of people who reach God rank; opening up the possibility of other pantheons of Gods doesn't mean that every player on the server is going to have different names, only a small percentage.
I understand CptChlorox's point about color codes but simply the act of having different names would assist in conveying a greater sense of individuality.
Also, Raphael, I believe the point that was being brought up was not about how fast you can get to God rank, but classifying Gods by when (what year or other specified period) they became God rank. Whether it took them a 6 months, a year or 3 years, they would be given a choice of a different pantheon based on what "epoch" of the game in which they achieved it.

Meehan has been asked in the past and has been against new God ranks, and I just don't think that individuality is a fair argument. Every other rank on the server has multiple people. I see about 20 amateurs on a day, and don't find it confusing. Nicknames allow for enough diversity, imo- and it only costs $3-$6 & it helps the server. Maybe there could be titan ranks at 1000 votes or something, but for god ranks I think there's more than enough variety and there's already more god ranks than there are normal ranks at the moment.

Also, I felt the same way when I joined. I wasn't sure if the Gods were staff, and when I saw a repeat it confused me further. |
