Hello Simplex Community. I've met some of you in-game, but I generally keep to myself, so perhaps introductions are in
order. My name is Megan. I'm from South Carolina in the good 'ol US of A. I am Lead Server / Assist. Manager for a
local, family-owned restaurant and I also tutor a young girl in 8th grade subjects (primarily math) during my off-days
twice a week. I have been playing MC for about 3-4 years now, however my game experience has been limited to SP survival and Creative modes only. After watching many hours of footage from the Hermitcraft servers, I finally decided to give MP a try...and am loving it.
Because I am relatively inexperienced in server play, I have been reluctant to apply for [Helper] until now. Although we
have some great people already taking on the responsibility, I feel that certain times of the day are still vulnerable for
trolls and bullies to run amok. I joined this server when it was about 2 weeks old...I had looked at several others, but
chose this community because a) it was a small community, which I had hoped would be relatively free of people looking to cause trouble and b) from what I saw looking around for the first time reminded me a lot of the Hermitcraft Community that I had enjoyed watching so much. The early community here was comprised of talented and creative individuals who were generally very friendly and helpful. I, personally, would like to see that it stays that way. I am an 80's baby...my
first console was an Atari...gaming is in my blood. Minecraft is possibly the most unique and beautiful concept for a
game I have ever seen. It is supposed to be fun...and a place that fosters Creativity...not trolls.
I guess that covers Why I decided to apply for [Helper]. So what qualifies me, as I've had no experience moderating a
chat previously? Well, I'm a quick study...I typically play approx. 6 hours a day...generally 11am-3pm & 12am-3am
EST...sometimes less, sometimes WAAY more. Some of that time overlaps with other Admin / Moderators, but a lot of it does not. I also routinely check the message board prior to each log-in to make sure that I am apprised of any important server information. As far as my overall demeanor...I can take a joke...I have the patience of a saint...and frankly, it's pretty hard to piss me off. As a layer of management, part of my job is dealing with squabbles among FOH/BOH staff and fielding customer issues, etc....in short, I know how to come to an amicable agreement, I'm not afraid to tell someone if they've crossed the line, and I know how not to overstep my bounds. I'm objective, and I'm fair. I also plan to be part of this community for a long time to come. My goal is to make sure that others do, as well. Thanks for the consideration.
