server crash, and what we can do to help.

i was able to get on for a few minutes with a few others, so first things first: meehan is definitley working on this as we speak.
that said it would appear that GP data has been corrupted, and its possible that it all claims will be gone: all of us who were online had no claims, although we still had our accumulated blocks. its possible that the data can be re-introduced but i find it unlikely given my past experience.
essentials/home data also appears to have been corrupted. a few of us still had our homes, several did not. this appears to be localized to people who had not renamed their homes.
so if you do manage to get on and are at your base, hit f3 and take a screenshot. its quite possible that we could all lose our homes, so this will at least ensure that you know where to travel back to if this is the case.
next, until we can get meehan to create a temporary whitelist (no new users or starter rank would be my recommendation) we all need to be super vigilant about new users logging on. for my part i will be hanging out at spawn and basically recommending new users to come back later, and following them if they don't take my 'advice'
lastly, everyone will have specific issues, but i urge you to give meehan/jasan/disue time to deal with the larger problems before pestering them with the smaller stuff. its going to be inconvenient for everyone for a bit, but we're a strong community and we can work through this!
