Hello everyone,
I've had this concept for a while now: A bank
How it would work is you could take out loans from the bank (in diamonds) and for a certain amount (Like real life obviously) you pay a diamond in interest every day (In real life day) that you don't pay it back
Now the elephant in the room here is people might not pay back which is a problem obviously
So my idea is when they are taking out the loan, I make it clear that after X days if you do not pay back or contact me about paying back late that it counts as stealing and I can report it to staff, making my diamonds (and interest) back and that player being jailed
So what I'm asking is firstly do people think this is a good idea in general.
Second would it be possible to do this how I suggest [M]'s?

I currently own the only bank on the server, granted my bank runs different than what you are proposing but i am working crazily to add loans and "grants" to my bank. It is a hard concept because if not done correct it can add a lot of unneeded work for the staff. You have to take into account that if you do not have staff in agreement with what you are doing they may ask you to shut your bank down. I had to swear to the staff that I was not going to steal diamonds, i showed the staff my designs and even asked the staff to point out any flaws they saw.
Another bank would be cool, just be aware that you need to really make sure staff is okay with what you are doing and your full intentions. Asking them to be your personal debt collection crew is not really part of their job.
Just my thoughts.

I actually heard about your bank after I made this post (I still had the idea for a while)
Thats why I asked staff whether it would be okay,
The problem though is that if a person doesn't pay back or never contacts me, then I can't get what I owe which technically is stealing, and staff are supposed to deal with stealing.
I highly doubt many people will take out loans at the same time, meaning staff won't be overloaded or anything. Still I am asking staff their thoughts.
I am kind of using your idea of a point system, it won't really work the same way or anything but I came across the same problem as you, paying somebody too much in interest or too little.

Honestly, I would be interested in hearing this be actually created. I probably wouldn't actually use it though.
If you're still thinking about making this happen, here's some rough ideas that maybe could pertain to this?
- Can only have people of (insert rank here) be able to take out loans from the bank.
- A customary copy of the bank's rulebook giving a rundown of how it works will be given to each player interested in using it.
If you wanted to make it more interesting, you could probably also have a solid storage system for players. Though, that would be difficult because it's a lot of a micromanaging at the bank's part, and it could be a huge problem if there's a mistake somewhere.

1: I was thinking of actually having a contract where they would have to sign the book (so I could give proof to staff)
