I never thought I'd ever be writing a ban appeal as a Simplex staff member, but here we go. This morning I woke up, loaded up Discord, and saw that I got removed from the Shopping District Discord server. I am unable to rejoin with the invite link, which leads me to believe that I am IP-banned. The reason of this ban was not communicated to me in any shape or form.
The past few days, I, as well as many other players within the Discord (for example: Nurikoh, Unicarnage, Mauhulakh, Zanril, IsThatASupra385), have been giving SD staff rightful and respectful criticism as to how they operate. I met each of sneakykitty, Choo_Imperium, or Phantom223's responses to my suggestions or complaints with lengthy reasoning as to why I think this certain way. I brought up valid points as to how SD staff enforce rules unequally and in a biased way; and did so always in accordance with server rules. Thus, I do not agree with my ban. I would like to know if my posts were in violation of any rules which would lead me to be rightfully banned. I would also like to know why I was banned from the Discord server in the first place. In response to my and other players' posts, SD staff did the following:
1. Cussed at players and displayed an extremely hostile attitude; sneakykitty told us to "shut the fuck up" and stop being "assholes" (a screenshot of this has been attached to this forum post)
- This is in violation of the "Be respectful to everyone" server rule.
2. Belittled our complaints
3. Closed down the #suggestions channel
4. Publicly released unknown and private information about myself and Mauhulakh; this was done by sneakykitty
- This is also in violation of the "Be respectful to everyone" server rule, as this rule encompasses the respect of people's privacy.
5. Banned certain players (myself and Mauhulakh included) from the Discord server without giving any notice or reasoning
It is wholly disgraceful that sneakykitty — a server Moderator who has been on the staff team for years — is allowed to mute, kick, temp-ban, and perma-ban players from Simplex and affiliated Discord servers for breaking server rules, while she herself violates those same rules. Disclosing private information and cussing at players is never okay. Given how long she has been on the staff team, she has no excuse for this behavior. I am not the only individual who thinks that sneakykitty is overly emotional, biased, petty, and easily holds grudges against players, making her an unfit server staff member as well as an unfit Shopping District co-owner.
This is not Kitty's first time breaking server rules or displaying unprofessional behavior. As displayed in the attached screenshot, she has called DarthVader (aka BrotherAsmodai) a "wife beater" in #sneaky-chat and released information about his private life, without his permission.
As Simplex staff, it is crucial for me to be in the SD Discord in order to access the #report-theft channel. I often help players logblock theft, underpayment, or overpayment, whether that be in the nether shops or in the SD. These requests are always written in that channel if a staff member is not online at the moment. In addition, I am a SD shop-owner and a nether shop-owner. Updates in regards to new rules, additions, changes, mass theft, etc. are always posted in the SD Discord. Not being able to access that information would be a shame.
