My belongings are all packed and ready to move. I've filled my ender chest with shulker boxes which in turn contain my stuff. Does the E chest need to be in my inventory when the reset happens? How do I pick up my E chest?

Do NOT wait, pack as soon as possible. Don't wait until its deiced when the reset will happen. Its still unknown when exactly the reset will happen

Question.. I might of asked but forgotten... Besides riding on a mule/donkey, can I take my dog on a leash too?

PetsLeashing a dog or a cat(or any other entity) will not work, they will not come with you to the new world. Having a parrot or two on your shoulder might work, but we have not tested this, and can't promise anything.
When? There is no date yet. We are currently preparing thinigs, and there is also holliday time for several staff members during the next few weeks. That doesn't mean it will take all summer before the reset, but we can't set a date as of now. When we announce a date, you will have time to pack your things, if you haven't already.
Claimblocks
Since a lot of players ask about this, I will explain this here, even if a complete plan with all the info will come later.
Do '/claimslist' to check your claim blocks, and look at the first line of text. The value 'xxxx blocks from play' will be reset, the value 'xxxx bonus' will be kept.
World download
We will try to get a world download of the old world out, after the reset. It's quite big, and we don't have a good place for it(yet). More info later.

Is there a possibility that a temporary nether portal that links to the nether roof might be placed in the spawn room? I think that might help us deal with the mayhem that will be 100+ donkeys/mules/llamas/etc being spawned in to the chunks on the same day with the possibility of 30+ of them being at the same time.

Not sure about the portal, we'll think about that. When it comes to max entities in a chunk, that is controlled by a plugin. We might want to temporarily disable that for a little while. It's there to prevent massive mob lag anyway, not much of that in a new world. |

I loved the spawn comp, and it would definitely be fresh to use one of those. Bit more work but at least it's built. |

I like the current one, Kitty and RottenCakeMarkE13 are constantly changing it to make it look pretty and seasonable. |

May I suggest that the new world border be 30x30k? I recommend this for two reasons, the first being that the world file would be smaller, and more manageable, and the second being that while small, this does tend to reduce lag on server minecraft. We can expand it as we have done if we need to, but to start out this new world, with the players that currently play (200 maybe? I'm not sure) would be plenty of space. Thanks for your consideration.
