Because it seems pointless to me. Master -> Grandmaster is just as "similar" as Demigod - God...? And yes, I realise I'm in the minority on this one.
Good point, I did not think about it that way. Guess it comes down to which way you prefer it being similar. Demigod might seem better though because the 'God' rank is actually split up into multiple ranks. Exactly, Meehan. "God" isn't technically a rank. "God" is just a title given to someone who has chosen a Greek god. Demigod -> Hestia, Demigod -> Shrek. It's not Demigod -> God. There is no "God" rank.

Why was my post deleted? I said why I think there should be some changes I said, I don't see why change Grandmaster to Demigod based on the idea of continuity if none of the other ranks are in order either? Amateur > Novice > Regular > Journeyman > Veteran > Adept > Expert > Master > Grandmaster > God If we are being honest if we are going based off of continuity it should be if we also add demigod Novice > Amateur > Journeyman > Regular > Adept > Expert > Veteran > Master > Demigod > God
And I actually prefer the one with demigod over the one with grandmaster to be quite honest

I think it's fairly obvious why your post was deleted, unless you've been living under a rock and have forgotten how to properly talk to people. If you can't get your point across without being an asshole, your post doesn't deserve any attention.
Regarding your post, first of all, your logic is shaky. The order of ranks is not really relevant to whether we decide to change grandmaster to demigod or not. The decision to change ranks is not 'based on continuity,' so this is something you have brought up entirely on your own. The OP makes mention however that replacing it would not disrupt any ranking order that was previously in place, as demigod does indeed fit nicely between Master and God rank. So to correct you, the replacement is not based on continuity, however it does do a good job of upholding continuity.
Second of all, I don't agree that 'none' of the ranks are ordered correctly, and obviously some are ordered correctly by your own example of a track. Additionally, if we account for the millions of ways that these ranks can be ordered, I'm certain that this order makes more sense than at least 90% of other possible orders. So keeping that in mind, let's pretend that this is actually "based off continuity." How is it you don't see why Grandmaster can be replaced with Demigod? Either you've forgotten the definition of "none" or you're subjecting yourself to the "everything must be done 100% correctly or not done at all" approach. Of course it can be replaced dude.
Third of all, I don't agree at all with how you've ordered them yourself. To be fair, these are all ranks that have multiple different interpretations, so can easily be interpreted differently by different people. I don't view a veteran as someone technically better than expert, not at all. I view veteran more as someone who has had longer experience than most people, but that doesn't equate to having more raw skill than that of an 'expert' in a particular field.
I also don't view journeyman as worse than regular. A simple google search for "journeyman" comes up with this: "To become a journeyman electrician, you must complete a rigorous course of education and training in the form of an apprenticeship consisting of between 500 and 1,000 classroom hours and between 8,000 and 10,000 hours (5-6 years) of supervised work experience and on-the-job training."
That's certainly better than just a 'regular.' Regular for me, just being another word for the average in this case.
I would however consider switching Apprentice for Regular, but that's about the only thing I can sort of agree on.

Sorry if my original post came off rude, it was in no way meant to. And I would appreciate if you didn't do the same to me.
First: I think my reasoning was fine for what I was talking about? I think (my own personal opinion) that the path of ranks should be more ordered, because at the moment based on their original definitions (not the one you give that you literally have to scroll down from the first results to find) they are a bit out of order. A journeyman is: "A journeyman is a worker, skilled in a given building trade or craft, who has successfully completed an official apprenticeship qualification." Which is why I originally said in my first post and in this post that a journeyman should come after an apprentice.
Secondly: Some are in order, that is correct, "none" isn't the correct word to use but that's not the point of this post. And it's hard to tell if you read my post because I said I preferred that Demigod was replaced with Grandmaster? Which is why I voted yes as well? And, even said "And I actually prefer the one with demigod over the one with grandmaster to be quite honest". Yes the ranks can be ordered a lot of ways, you can replace master with novice and novice with journeyman, but that's also not the point I was trying to make.
Thirdly: I didn't say you had to change the ranks, it's just a suggestion for a reason. However some of these ranks make more sense like Novice > Amateur. Novice is someone who is new to something while an amateur is someone who isn't new to something but they aren't very good at it. Also, I forgot apprentice in my last post Apprentice should be between Amateur and Journeyman (in my opinion) because an apprentice is someone who is obviously still learning while a journeyman is someone who has finished their apprenticeship. A regular is someone who is in my opinion a regular worker that is already trained, he's not the best he's not the worst but he has some work experience and has completed his training. I put adept after regular because adept is someone who is highly skilled with lots of experience, an expert is... well... an expert. A veteran is someone in my opinion who has been around for a long time and is an expert, wouldn't you say? A master is someone who has seen it all and is striving for even more power! A demigod is someone who has achieved more power and has learned the secrets to life itself, to finally turn themselves into a god.
Overall it was just my opinion and agreed with the change that you said I didn't. I just gave another suggestion to go along with the original post where it talked about putting demigod right before god, and I wanted to add, "Hey while we're at it, why not change this as well" based off of continuity.
Also, sorry for being an asshole in my first post. I genuinely didn't mean to be. Have a nice day :3

very cool very swag, i like it. Personally I think that the idea of having a small taste of the god rank before actually reaching the big 500 votes is awesome.

As previously stated, you had to have been living under a rock to not know you were being an asshole. Just the blunt truth it sounds like you needed to hear, if you in fact did not intend to. Fact is though, you've opened up a conversation unrelated to this thread. So, if you wish to further the discussion, instead of further derailing this one, please open up another thread. In summary, I don't agree with your order.

came up with this real quick just now, but potentially one of the demigod "sub-ranks" all lead up to their respective god rank.

Even if Grandmaster isn't changed to Demigod (which I think is a fun idea), can we at least change the color from the dark red to the lighter red? It's pretty indistinguishable in chat between Grandmaster and Master. This makes it feel like there is very little 'visible' distinction between 288 votes to 499. Could be a nice way for GMs to feel recognized.

I got multiple cases that shows this issue. It is maybe something to think about.

I agree with Mau and BubbaJ on this one, I'm not necessarily invested in changing the rank title as much as I am the color. I would prefer &C over &4 or any other color really. Having two ranks back to back with the same colors tends to lead to some confusion

Having two ranks back to back with the same colors tends to lead to some confusion And not only does it lead to confusion, there's absolutely no accomplishment! &4GrandMaster could at least be changed to &cGrandMaster. Something like that would make a huge difference in the ranks.

I agree with changing it to Demigod (though I wish it would have happened when I was GrandMaster lol). One thing is I absolutely *hated* master because of the color. so grandmaster kinda sucked for me too. like you said, grandmaster doesnt feel all that different. I'm not a huge fan of having separate ranks though? it seems like it would be kinda difficult to keep track of. i like keeping with just god having the different choices because it really feels like the grand finale. anyway, this would be cool to see happen!
