Any spooky dudes wanna sign up for dat comp? ?? Plenty of plots left! One of the easiest comps so far!! You know you wanna spooky dudes. Have thought about participating, but lately, I unfortunately haven't put much time into playing — which is why I haven't requested a plot. Will think about it more and make a decision soon.

Hey everyone, the trick or treat event should be taking place at 12 noon central US time on Saturday (tomorrow/technically today from the time of this post....) and end at 1:50pm. Another run may be announced later if I can manage it.
While I know everyone knows real life has and always will come first I still feel an explanation is required for my past week's absence. While it isn't uncommon for me to not log on for a few days-week I usually would be pretty active on discord and usually never miss an event like I had. This post might be heavy, and I apologize in advance for that. Also sorry for wall of text...
So guess here is why: Last Saturday morning, around 4am, my husband came to me, and I could tell he was struggling. He told me he was not doing well mentally and had just gotten off the phone with the suicide prevention hotline. They urged him to seek out professional help. He didn't know if he should go. I told him he needed to do what he needed to do. When he left for the ER, I told him to let me know what was happening(our kids were asleep and we didn't know how long he'd be there). When I woke later and had not gotten word from him I was really scared. As I don't have a phone myself, I had to contact his mom to find him because he was not answering me through social media/discord. Telling her the information on what was happening was almost too much and I was surprised she could even understand me. I had completely broken down at this point. After she couldn't get the hospital she contacted her daughter(his sister who lives near us) we found he was still at the hospital. We went to him and I got his things(including phone), as they took everything from him the minute he arrived. That day they took him to a psychiatric hospital in the town over. I do not have a license, and was taken home by his sister. He called (his own phone that I had) that night and said they do not know how long he will be there. The next day they said he might be let out in 3 day's time. Thats when I made the comment above. I didn't know if it would be Wednesday or Thursday or later. When you spend nearly every day with someone for 14 years you become dependent upon each other. Our sudden separation was really hard not only for the both of us but for our son, who is not old enough to understand. He came home Wednesday after noon and is doing better. We spent Halloween with his sister, niece, and our kids. I just couldn't bring myself to play while he was gone, even though I've used minecraft to distract myself from emotionally distressing situations before. I feel like I've let him down, but I also feel like I've let you all down too and I'm sorry.
If you ever feel like you just can't take it any more, like life just isn't worth it, please reach out to someone. anyone. It can be a stranger on the phone or a stranger on a silly block game. Don't hold it in and act on those feelings negatively. Someone somewhere in your life will be devastated if you left this world too soon, even if it doesn't feel like it.
again sorry. I know, pretty heavy. Not meaning to bring y'all down. See you all in game when the sun is up. o/

I'm so so sorry to hear this =( I had a similar experience this summer with those feelings so I know how difficult it can be. There's absolutely no need to apologize - you haven't let us down at all! Being there for your husband and your family in such a situation is infinitely more important than a trick or treat event. We're happy to prolong the Halloween festivities =) I am happy to hear he is feeling better and I'm wishing your family all the best. If you ever need to talk I am here if you need it!

Just walking around the Halloween town blew me away already! I'm glad you prioritized family over us, and that you were so supportive to those who needed it.
Like aquariusblue said, take as much time as you need. If Christmas can be celebrated 2 months early, Halloween can be celebrated late!

Kitty,
I am so sorry to hear about your situation. You have done a lot for Simplex. Life comes first, as always. I hope everything will continue to work out for you, your husband, and everyone else who is involved in this — you will remain in our thoughts.
Like the posts above, you have no reason to apologize. Please don’t feel as if you owe us players something.
All the best.
