Hello all,
This isn't an appeal, or rather it should've been a year ago. It's been a full year since I've joined Simplex one night, and it's been a wild ride. Great people, great atmosphere, great server. There were plenty of downs, but lots of ups in the process. I make mistakes, I'm human. I x-rayed a while after I joined out of greediness, and was banned shortly after. I made an appeal which can be found in the forums if you dig hard enough, and after my sentence was up, I made sure to never break the rules again and to make up for what I did to the Staff and the community, since it makes people who earn their items legitimately feel like their work is worthless. But that's not the end of it, at least for me.
When I originally appealed, I had an old friend of mine help me draft an appeal, and I told him that I was innocent. Of course, I wasn't, I knew. And it was obvious, I wasn't the brightest at covering my tracks and it's a good thing I wasn't. (Getting caught is what I deserved, and it was a good kick in the pants for stubborn me.) I made my appeal, and, after having evidence given to me about my x-raying, I accepted the ban and waited the seven days. However, I never sincerely apologized for something I knew was wrong and had no second thoughts about. After a full year, I never said sorry. I feel as if this is, however big or small, a blow to the Staff. Never admitting that I did something and just holding out until a week passed must make me look like a freeloader or maybe just someone who never really respected the Staff, who I talk and need help from almost every single day.
This is my formal apology to the Simplex Staff.
Some might think it may be unnecessary, it was a year ago, you served your sentence, etc., but while I was on vacation last week, I thought of this. The Staff, some of whom are my friends and who I respect, never received a deserved apology. I'm sorry to all the Simplex Staff, new, old, returned, for breaking the rules and refusing to accept that I broke them. My apology is also particularly for Ken, who had to waste his time gathering evidence, Veil for wasting his time taking photos of the evidence, and my old friend for giving him the false pretext and trust that I was innocent when I really wasn't. He knows who he is.
I realize that this opens me up to criticism for past mistakes and judgment because of those mistakes, but I deserve to be judged even when I break rules in a block game. It's a reflection on who I was at the time. It might not be a real-world crime, x-raying, but it's petty of me to deny something that I did, given the circumstances. Feel free to judge me on my past mistakes, it's only natural and I do not blame you. I only ask that you be kind to me. To any Staff member reading this, I was not punished completely for my x-raying. My ores were not taken away, nor were my items. They were hidden in a chest inside my base which I stored inside for an unknown reason. All of my diamond equipment was not confiscated, nor were my diamonds. Please contact me if you see me on the server to seize the stack of diamonds which were not confiscated, as well as an additional stack for not reporting the mistake and accumulating wealth since then. It's not fair that my items weren't confiscated when others who were in trouble for the same mistake had their items taken away. I hope to be forgiven for this by the Staff and the player-base, even if it happened a long time ago, and promise my continued loyalty to the Staff and their rules.
