Appeal: Hello,
Im writing this, as i have just been banned for X-ray. I am putting in an appeal as i am innocent and have done nothing. I understand why a the amount of diamonds gained and the way i gained them, raised suspicion among the moderators, because the path i took seemed strange. It was, as i just jumped down a ravine and started making my way straight down. I jumped down a ravine to get some "free" levels, and then i took a sharp turn. The reason i turned was that i had hit level 12, and decided too work myself inward. I found some diamonds. My friend came over with his fortune pick and he mined them up for me. I continued around, found a random cave. I swear i just dug where i saw lava connect to a ravine. Found diamonds, called my friend over again. I swear i was just lucky, as i have never thought about using xray. Every diamond i have gained have been through honest means. I play this server for its survival and its community. This is my only offence. I dont have tons of diamonds, as my chests will tell you. Most have been gifts or gained through trading. I am the founder of a small village filled with players. They were all online and can vouch for my innocence. You have made a mistake.
Please, i just want to play with my friends.

Sorry dont have much time but here's some evidence of spots where you suspiciously found diamonds hidden behind stone with no ores or other reason to mine to them.

The first vein of ores where found on a random stripmine, which i dug out to make my way forward and down toward level twelve. I then dug straight and found an underground ravine, as shown in the first set of pictures. I was walking around in the ravine, and if you return there, you will see that there is a large pool of lava that flows through the area, along with lavapools rom the walls, like in the picture. after jumping down, i chose a random wall to start digging at, not completely random however, as i chose a wall that woundnt risk me digging straight through so that i would fall down in the lava. I know that kind of defence insnt bulletproof, however, i have some things to bring forward to strenghten my defence.
A friend of mine, a user named Swuglet, owns a pickaxe with fortune 3. Both times i found diamonds, i called him too tp to me, as i was talking with him on discord. He lent me his pick, i dug my ores. I said thanks and he left. I then called him back a few minutes later and borrowed it again. IF i was using Xray, why didnt i just keep his pickaxe and return it later? Because if i knew where the ores where, i couldve just kept going, but as i dint, i had too disturb him again. He can vouch for this story.
IF i was using a hack, how come i stopped going? I got the two ore veins i found, i got no message about a limit or anything. I couldve kept going. But i didnt, because i was playing with all my friends,and wanted to focus on our build.
At the time of my ban, i had around a hundred diamonds. Most of those are either gifts, money i have recieved through trades, or voting. This is one of the only times i have mined any diamonds, and without the fortune pick, it really would only have been 10 diamonds.
I have spent a considerable amount of time on the server, i have never hade any other cases of ill behavior, and have tried my hardest to be a part of the community. I cant help the fact that i got lucky. This whole situation is just a misunderstanding, and i dont think i deserve the sentance.
If i was guilty, i would not have made such a fuss in every possible forum, trying to get some sort of response, it would have been easier just too sit out the time or confess. But i didnt do it.
The admins are free to strip me of the diamonds gained.

Mark already posted the ores I found too suspicious, but I will post some more screenshots of them and explain my findings.
Here is before you found the diamonds. You were in the cave to the left.
You suddenly decided to mine a few blocks straight into a random wall, directly to diamonds:
That is more than suspicious, and there is nothing leading you into that wall.
And here is the next one. You came from your strip mine to the left, and you hit a cave:
You walked down to the lava pool, and again mined directly into the wall, straight to diamonds:
There is no way you could know those were there, and there is nothing dragging you to that wall.
You then walked back to where your strip mine was, and continued to the right.
I don't see how any part of your explanation can explain any of those. Mining around lava is a technique I know is used, but mining into the wall on the side of lava, finding diamonds, then leave the area, is not.
As for your friend Swuglet and his side of the story, we can't really rely on what other players say about a case like this. Especially since he too has been tempbanned for xray before, and jailed for stealing, that makes him less trustworthy.
Your ban time will stay for now, you have about 5 days left.

I see your point,as i stated in my second appeal. Again, there is really no reason for me to want to cheat, but here i am convicted anyways. I think it is very unfortunate that nothing can be done about the lenght of the ban. Again, why would i be so vocal about this if i didnt truly know that i was innocent. How do you mine when youre in a shaft? I just picked a random spot and got lucky. There is no defence in that, but it is the same with everything else in this, it is your word against mine. I think the time i have had too wait between messages have been strangely long and silent, and very unwelcoming. Im sorry for making remarks toward the staffing and moderatoring, but it just feels like i was punished because someone felt like dealing out some bans. I find the whole situation very sad, that is all. I was and still am innocent. But i guess none of it really matters.

Honestly man your mines do look very suspicious, I'd probably tempban you for that too. You may be innocent, but in my experience it is very rare that an innocent player randomly hits diamonds the instant they mine into a cave wall. As for the comment regarding the long time between responses, understand that we're real people with real jobs and real lives who moderate this server as volunteers. Most of us are adults and many of our staff members are parents. We do not have endless free time; sometimes we're just busy and that is okay. We generally don't have the time to wait around on the forums, responding to every post the instant it gets sent. We just do our best and check on the forums whenever we can. Regarding ways that you can mine that will make it easier for us to see that you are innocent, here are some examples of methods you can use: Mining forever in a straight line:
  Mining in a straight line with regularly-spaced test branches: Strip-mining (parallel tunnels or regular grid pattern):  Beacon mining (using a beacon to mine out everything at a set Y-level): I hope this helps! |
