Dear Admins of Simplex,

I was recently banned for x-ray. This ban is correct, although I have never used an xray texture pack before so I do not understand why ''again'' was used in the message.

My main focus in Minecraft is building and that will always stay that way. I always play with Flows HD-Texture pack 128x & Sildur's Vibrant shaders extreme. Yet I was tempted by recent videos on youtube to use such a texture pack(xray), which was apparently a big mistake.

I recently started playing Minecraft (you can probably see the gap between my logins) and to be honest, I'm really enjoying it. For example, I started playing back on the server every day, building large projects, donating, and generally just having fun together with other people. The attractive part of this server is that it is fairly small, there are actually more adults on it than on other servers and that everyone behaves in a friendly manner. Unfortunately I did not seem to behave very mature and I took the miss step to use a stupid x-ray texture pack which led to me being banned now. I would also like to mention that I am a friendly and helpful person and that I do not, in any situation, intend to be toxic or rude towards the community.

I ask and beg, with all due respect, to give me a second chance, no matter how cliché that sounds. If you really want to keep me away for a while, so be it and I respect that, of course.
Hopefully you won't let it last too long since this is the only server I play on, so I will now also just drop minecraft once again, until I get accepted on your server.

Ohhhkay. So it wasn't me who originally banned you, but I went through and checked your mines, and dear lord man.

I just went through your mines for all 11 of your past mining limit hits and you literally X-rayed in every single location. Not only that, you have some of the most comprehensive and thorough X-ray tunnels that I have ever seen. In your mining I honestly doubt you missed a single diamond, iron, or gold ore.

I checked your claim that you were never banned before: You were first banned on February 1st for X-ray. Your second ban was today, again for X-ray. In my survey today, I checked both of the mines that led to these two bans and both are plainly obvious examples of X-ray.

Also please don't insult our intelligence with the bs about the texture packs and shaders. We honestly don't care what textures or shaders you use as long as you don't cheat. You, on the other hand, made many obvious X-ray tunnels, which are even more obvious with logblock. Therefore you have most certainly have been cheating: That's why we care; that's why you were banned.

To address your last point, we know that our server is great; we have created a really nice place and fostered a really great community. There are very few servers in Minecraft like ours and we are proud of what we have here. Because of this we are, understandably, very protective of what we have here.

We don't have a lot of rules, and the rules we do have are common sense things that most people really shouldn't have an issue complying with. People who refuse to abide by our rules simply do not belong on our server and they do not belong in our community.

You were temp-banned for X-ray, and when that ban ended you immediately continued X-raying. You had your second chance and you wasted it.

We rarely give third chances, and we most certainly don't hand them out the same day as a player's perm ban. You betrayed our community twice now, we will not be so quick to let you back in.

I wouldn't recommend making a new ban appeal until a year has passed (or honestly a few years). You clearly have no desire to change your ways right now. It's going to take time and a real shift in character before we welcome you back.

You blatantly xrayed again as recently as 2 days ago. Emajor's post says enough I suppose.

Wow, I honestly did not know about the first ban since I was absent during that week(you can find evidence in the chat loggbook (February 1st) of me telling people that I am going off for a week before getting banned. I also pm'd someone that same day).

If I had known about the ban, I would not have continued. That is why I said I did not understand why again was used in the ban message. You can probably also check that I did not attempt to login during the 7-day perm ban and that I was offline when the first ban was given. This results in me not being aware of the first strike.
This looks like a rare situation where the banned person was gone/absent during the 7-day perm-ban and returned once it was over.

Due to this misconception and the excisting evidence that I did not know about the first ban, is it not ethical that there might be any chance of a re-evaluation around this?

This server means a lot to me because it uplifted my passion for Minecraft in general. I can only say It won't happen again since I did not get the chance to say it after the first ban.

A "no cheating rule" is clearly posted at spawn. Awareness of a prior punishment should not be needed for you to follow the rules and isn't evidence of anything. You were banned for cheating and you admit to using an x-ray pack on the server. I suggest you read and follow the rules of any server you join in the future.

The appeal has been denied and this thread will be locked. You can appeal again in the future but we see no reason to let you back at this time.
