Punishment and Duration: Banned for 7 days
Reason: "xray appeal at simplex.boards.net"
Appeal: I was not using x-ray, however, I can easily see how this mistake was made. The way I mine is where I turn on subtitles to see what noises are happening and then dig straight down. I use subtitles so I can easily see when lava or monsters are nearby, as "lava bubbling" appears on my screen. When I know lava is nearby, I start digging to the left or right. I was doing this today and hit 2 patches of diamonds pretty quick, and barely escaped some lava before finding a ton of iron. The server informed me that "You're really good at mining! Please wait 1 minute before mining more diamonds!". I kept mining forward, ignoring the message thinking it would only be applicable if I was cheating, and eventually came across some lava. I mined above it and found some redstone, but upon mining the first block I was banned. I'm not sure if this was an automatic ban or a moderator deemed my mining illegitimate.
This server is really cool and I enjoy playing here, but I wasn't using any x-ray mods or texture packs and I don't plan to. If I do get unbanned I will probably just use strip mining as it appears less sketchy, or I'll just not mine as frequently.
