Ban Appeal

jendestroy, I'm going to rescind the ban -- with an explanation, and a wish for the future.

Yes, you were literally in the act of hiding the structure -- not what Meehan had instructed, but "close enough" to the spirit of what was asked. And that would have been the end of it, had you chosen to let it end it there.

But for whatever reason you chose that moment to state that no one tells you what to do (not even the server owner), and tossed it off as "staff trying to control our builds" and then dug your heels in, making repeated statements such as you wouldn't comply "because of someones feelings". You said you saw nothing wrong with it, therefore nobody else should see anything wrong with it. ("if people take it the wrong way why should it be our fault?")

You made your point, loud and clear.

I have learned to take what people say lightly, with a grain of salt, when said once in the heat of the moment. But you backed up your position ("no one tells us what to do") in repeated statements. And that's just a way of saying "we do not fit a server that has community standards, we fit an anarchy server". I'm not saying that's a bad thing or a good thing. But that's pretty much what you were telling me by your repeated statements. Perhaps you didn't really mean that?

So.

I am rescinding the ban, in the hope that ^^the above was simply heated words said in the heat of the moment. I acknowledge that you were in the process of covering the build, and had promised to keep such jokes to private chat and/or among friends (not the public) in the future.

I genuinely hope you continue to enjoy the community, and seek to be a contributing partner in maintaining what it is. Seriously. I also hope that you learn that the community standards are set by the owner and maintained by the community. They are not something you can reject out of hand just because you don't agree, or don't like being told what to do.
