Punishment and Duration: Permanently banned
Reason: Racism
Appeal: I put a sign on a friend's house as a gag. This was done in response to a prank, in which multiple cobblestone phalluses, and a sign that read with a derogatory term that was far less than the one I chose for the gag sign, and was not punished or even noticed. The sign would have been taken down as soon as my friend noticed, and it was not meant to be for public view. It was also apparently put in chat that I have been warned before. This is not the case. I was told once to respect a mod after I called him out for favoring another community member in a griefing dispute, which the other community member was banned for. I apologize for the racist sign I made on my friends door, and it will not happen again.

Then on the matter of what had happened: Dealing with a griefer in progress is stressful enough without people like you belittling staff while they are trying to figure out what is actually happening. Sure you were saying "hey this player is griefing me" We have had people make false statements like that before to try and get someone in trouble so we try to watch first and gather the facts before punishing. We don't favor other players over another. The sign you put up, even if "just a joke", is never at all acceptable anywhere at any time for any reason. I will let the one who punish you decide your fate, but if you are given a second chance, you would need to change your chat and behavior. Seriously. |

Although I believe that this is what happens in most cases, when trying to get attention to the offending player, I was told something along the lines of “I’m sure that’s not actually happening” (Not word for word, but very similar. I don’t remember the quote exactly), and disregarded for over an hour, until after I logged out and he started harassing other players I play with. I appreciate your responses to Kitty's message. Just so we're clear, here's the sign that pulled the trigger on the ban, although it wasn't the first straw, just the last. Kitty has addressed that, so no need to repeat it.  I'll change the permban to a 3-day tempban starting now (Monday evening). A 1-week tempban was suggested, but I'm cutting it short so you can log in over the upcoming holiday weekend with your friends if you wish. Please take these warnings to heart. There won't be another. |
