I have heard a couple people asking about the outer end islands and if they ever reset.
Personally I don’t mind but here are the pros and cons:
Pros: Shuckers and elytra are eisier to obtain
Cheaper elytra sand shulkur boxes
Cons: anyone who built a base in the end will have to move or be considered when mcedditing the centre island in the end
Possibility to ruin the economy

Simplex should be like Hermitcraft: The Ender Dragon drops an elytra. That makes them renewable and easier to get, plus it gives a reason to fight the dragon. In terms of the elytra market, all of the stores are out of stock anyway.

Dragon dropping elytra is not a very vanilla thing. I don't see that ever going to happen.
About resetting parts of the end. I know meehan has been deleting region files for the end, that had not been modified for a long time. It's been done a few times, so there should be a lot of untouched islands in the end.

Shulkers and elytras are easy to get if you put in the work. I've only found one city that actually WAS RAIDED all year, of all the ones I've found. Just put in the work. I have a hard time finding diamonds, and I don't just ask that the lower parts of the world be reset. I just keep mining, knowing its statistically almost impossible to mine every diamond, just as it's impossible to raid every city. The good thing about this server is that if you get tired looking, you can just go to the shopping district.

I agree that they should at least be partially reset, as I walked for a full hour and couldn't find any end cities, so I ended up spending a stack of diamonds on an elytra, which is not something I want to do often
Still, if we decide not to, that's fine as well, it would simply be more convenient to get these useful items

Update: I flew along the East-West axis for two full hours, and I didn't find any unraided cities. Is there a way to change the end gateway behaviors so they default to more remote locations?

I dont think we will or can do that.
Anyway, there are elytras left, should be possible to find.
Since ppl have been talking a lot about this lately, and the elytra prices had gone up, I thought I should check if I could find any, since it's been a while for me.
I flew in the end for an hour or two, and I found two elytras and about 40 shulker shells.
So it's possible to find, with some effort.
I get that new-ish players cant fly around yet, and would need to build bridges "forever", but I guess that's part of the multiplayer life on a minecraft server older than one month.
I bought my first elytra, then flew to find more. I could also have asked other players to tpa to them, when they were way out in the end. And maybe agree on what direction each of us was gonna travel, to not get to the same cities.
And since we have /sethome, you really just need to get far out once.

I worked for my first pair of wings, and then I flew. My way of raids could help, sethomes. I'd work for wings then I'd go and learn how to freaken use them lol, then I'd go to the end, I'd pick one way to go only and fly with rockets that way, if I run out of rockets I'd land and set home, go refresh myself and try again doing the same steps. I found lots of city's and lots of raised ones. And anyone that knew me starting out knows I SUCKED at this game so bad lol, try that and see if it helps any. Hope I helped even if alittle

That is literally the exact same strategy I used for a week. Absolutely no success. Also, what happens when they're all raided out into the hundred thousands or millions? Because it's going to happen eventually. And eventually, it's not going to be worth the effort to go get them. And given that deaths by lava and void do happen, eventually there will be literally no obtainable elytras left. Then what?
Looking at this now, it seems ridiculous that any of this could ever happen, but we're close already, judging by what I've seen
